Welcome to CB&W!
This pre-recorded session brings you into the fold of the CB&W family. We will discuss important details as a client including your client portal, prenatal visits, classes & education, birth team support options, and an overarching view of your journey with us through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Other topics we will discuss are nutrition, exercise/movement, and other common questions.

Becoming
This CB&W specific group prenatal visit is generally taken between 22-26 weeks. It is a two hour class that includes a one-on-one prenatal visit with one of our midwives for a personalized check-in with you. The session will cover pregnancy symptoms and discomforts, fetal movement, standard screenings, consents, baby positioning, exercises, comfort measures and the transition into becoming a parent both emotionally and logistically.

Childbirth 101 Series
This 3 night series focuses on the stages of labor, anatomy, physiology, what birthing in a birth center looks like, comfort measures, what to expect in the event of a transfer, and evidence based education/activities to ensure you have a comprehensive understanding of the rhythm of birth. All classes take place in person at our Lowry location and we ask all birthing people to have a support person present for class.

Required for all first time unmedicated birthing families.

COMBO Birth Techniques
COMBO Birth includes Childbirth 101 information as well breathing and mediation work that uses self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques to help a laboring soon-to-be parent feel physically, mentally and spiritually prepared. This class teaches participants to practice and use a combination of music, visualization, positive thinking and words to relax the body and control sensations during labor.

Preparing for Breastfeeding
This essential prenatal class covers all of the necessary topics related to breastfeeding! Topics include (and are not limited to): First latch, normal newborn feeding patterns, how milk changes over the first few days, normal infant feeding patterns and behaviors, latch and positioning, milk supply, how to know baby is getting enough, returning to the outside world, debunking myths and well-meaning relatives! Classes are taught by the amazing CB&W Lactation team.
Required for all families without a previous breastfeeding journey.

Newborn Care
This essential class covers all of the necessary topics for caring for your newest family member! Topics include (and are not limited to): Meeting your newborn, the first few hours, bathing and cord care, diapering, comforting your baby, baby-wearing, newborn sleep patterns and sleep safety, establishing care with a pediatrician, carseat recommendations, how to take care of yourself and more! Class is a virtual video that can be watched multiple times to reference once baby is here. Class is only offered to clients and is emailed through the client portal.
Required for all first time parents. -
Transitions
This required video class prepares parents for all the transitions in the final stages of pregnancy and takes a deep dive into the immediate postpartum period.

Reflections
This one hour postpartum support class creates a kind, vulnerable and open space to share your experience, your birth story and connect with other birthing people. You will learn further education, support measures and tips for your 4th trimester or postpartum recovery journey.

For all education offerings please note that we require the attendance of a birth support team member, whether that is a partner or a trusted member of your team.
Please arrange for care of children during class times as we cannot permit their attendance.
